I offer three unique types of therapy and also Spiritual Direction

You may book a single or a combination of different therapy types. Select one below to see more information

Couples counselling

Loving the Self and Loving the Other.

I have received specialist training in couples counselling. This includes couples from different cultures and orientations.

A couples counsellor can help to provide ways that you can listen and speak to each other more effectively. We can also work together on destructive patterns that may have come from your family of origin.

It takes courage and practice to change behaviours. It is not easy but hard work can lead to more satisfying relationships.

Sometimes people come knowing it is the end of their relationship and wanting help to end it well.

Integrative therapy

A Clearer Understanding of self

Integrative Therapy moves between different therapeutic models. For example, psychodynamic therapy explores how our past affects our present, transactional analysis (TA) looks at the way we interact with others, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) has a focus on thinking and behaviour and narrative therapy seeks to edit and change the messages we have received about ourselves from our life story.

Integrative therapy is a powerful way of weaving together multiple, therapeutic approaches and shaping counselling  to meet the needs and choices of the client.

Writing therapy

Expressing ourselves on paper.

You do not have to be an expert at writing to benefit emotionally.

Research has discovered that writing about traumatic experiences is beneficial both physically and mentally. (Pennebaker & Beall, 1986: p. 280).

Sometimes, therapeutic writing can lead into creative writing and then, our imaginative imagery, can link the unconscious with the conscious. and help us to understand ourselves.

You can either choose to do some therapeutic writing in the context of Integrative Therapy or you can choose this option and focus on writing alone.

Spiritual direction

A journey of adventure and discovery.

Spiritual Directors do not direct! In fact the less common term, Spiritual Accompaniment, describes what we do more accurately!

I offer Spiritual Direction online for £50 per hour.

Some people receive spiritual direction monthly or 6 weekly, others choose to have it less and more frequently than this.

There are many reasons why we choose to have spiritual direction.

I qualified as a Franciscan Spiritual Director in 2017 and I am interested in the way science and religion are increasingly connecting with each other as one, holistic story.

I have witnessed the beauty of faith communities where love and concern for the other is at their heart. Sadly, I’ve also seen the damage and pain a religious community can create when unhealthy power and control is practiced.
I have studied world religions and worked with people of different world faiths and no faith.
